Joseph Bourque, 78, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born on September 4, 1933 to Effie Rouly Bourque and Edias Bourque in New Iberia, Louisiana. Joe grew up working the fields with his family and learning how things worked and how to fix them. He met his wife-to-be, Beverly Latiolais, at a dance in Breaux Bridge when she was 16 and knew she was the one for him. Joe served two years in the Army and came home and married the love of his life. They moved to Port Arthur where he found work at the painters local in various refineries in the area. Joe was affectionately known as "Little Joe" by those who knew and loved him. Joe loved tinkering with electronics and was known as the TV man back in the 60's. He was the hardest working man in town. Even after retirement Joe would take jobs painting houses and doing remodeling jobs. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it. He loved to stay busy and he loved to dance. He and his wife would often have the floor cleared to watch them spin around dancing to Cajun music. He and his wife raised 4 children and have enjoyed watching the grand and great-grandchildren arrive and grow up. He and his wife attended every sporting event their children and grandchildren participated in. He loved watching them compete and interacting with the other parents and kids. Joe was a member of St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Antoine and Paul Bourque. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Bourque of Port Arthur, Texas; his daughters, Tammie Bolch and husband Mark of Port Neches, Texas; Laura Hensley of Huntsville, Texas; his sons, Joseph Kim Bourque and wife Lisa of Bridge City, Texas; Kip Bourque of Vidor, Texas; brothers, J.C. Bourque of New Iberia, Louisiana, Herbert Bourque of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; sisters, Mary Jane Winn of Lafayette, Louisiana, Teresa Steele of New Iberia, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Alex Rodriguez and Eunice Layton of A*Med Hospice for their care, dedication and professionalism in caring for Joseph in his last weeks.
