Ordell Joseph Saunders

March 14, 1937 - September 28, 2012

O. J. "Bob" Saunders, 75, of Corrigan, Texas was a boat captain, former resident of Sabine Pass and an outdoorsman who loved the mountains. He passed away in Sabine Pass on Friday, September 28, 2012. He is survived by his son, Adam Saunders and wife Julie, his daughter, Scottie Ray and husband Craig, five grandchildren, Brad Berg, Marissa Berg, Olivia Saunders, Reid Saunders and Avery Saunders. He is also survived by his three sisters, Mary Claassen and husband Dean, Jan Iglesias, Deanie McGrath and husband Jim, numerous other family members as well as his longtime companion, Glenda Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nancy and brother, Bud, his grandson, Ryan Berg. Visitation will be on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Kitty Key, officiating. Burial will follow at Sabine Pass Cemetery.
