Rosa B. Tomplait

Rosa B. Tomplait, 72, of New Iberia, La. and a former resident of LaPorte, Texas passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born on November 26, 1939 to Louise Bennett Rouly Reaux and Willie Reaux, Sr. in New Iberia, Louisiana. She married Clifford Tomplait and they moved to Texas where they lived for 50 years until his death in 2007. Rosa worked as a beautician at Happy Harbor Nursing Home for over 15 years. She loved dogs, shopping, playing bingo and the slot machines at any casino. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Stephen McCrate, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford and three brothers-in-law, Ronald Aucoin, Leroy and Joe Tomplait. She is survived by two special nieces, Joy Reaux Latiolais and Gerry Muzny of New Iberia, La., her sister, Janet Aucoin of New Iberia, La., her brothers, Eugene Reaux, Sr. and wife Susie, Glynn Reaux and wife Caroline, Willie Reaux, Jr. all of New Iberia, La., sister-in-law, Minnie Tomplait of Texas along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
