Mary L. Scully Gaspard Mary L. Scully Gaspard, 75, of Groves, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. She was born on April 16, 1937 to Ann Marie Hebert Scully and George L. Scully, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Mary graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and worked for her father for several years, she played the piano and organ at several Catholic Church's in the area for all occasions through the years. She played the piano for most of the musical's at the Port Arthur Little Theater in the late 50's. She lived in the area for most of her life and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. Mary was the recipient of the Founders Pin for the Sweet Adeline's Chapter "The Prairie Winds" in the late 60's in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth Greig serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George L. Scully, Jr. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Eugene Gaspard of Groves, Texas, her daughters, Kelly Gaspard of Lumberton, Texas and Tracy Gaspard of Groves, Texas, Her son, Bryan Gaspard of Groves, Texas along with her nine grandchildren, Miranda Maraist, Lindsey Gaspard, Alisha Maraist, Jamie Gaspard, Desiree Hoag, Chasity Gennuso, Bree Gaspard, Daira Gaspard, Destiny Gaspard as well as 5 great grandchildren, Ava, Gabbie, Joshua, Jaden and Gage. She is also survived by her sisters, Lillian Hernandez of Longview, Texas, Patricia George and Helen Gilmore both of Port Arthur, Texas, sister-in-law, Mary Scully of League City, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to April and the staff of Harbor Hospice. Special thanks to Lorri Robertson, Mary's R.N. and her friend.
