Herbert W. Becker, 96, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves on Thursday, November 22, 2012. He was born on December 19, 1915 to Theresa Hendrick Becker and August Becker in Thorndale, Texas. He has been a resident of the Port Arthur area since 1933. Herbert served in the U. S. Army during World War 11. He retired from Texaco as a supervisor in the grease plant after 40 years of service. Herbert was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Arthur. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 25, 2012 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Timothy Dinger, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Ronnie Becker. Herbert is survived by his loving wife, Eris Seelig Becker of Port Arthur, Texas, his daughters, Christie LeJune and husband Todd of Fannett, Texas, Jennifer Lenz and husband Marty of Sugarland, Texas, his son, Dennis Becker of Port Neches, Texas, five grandchildren, Brett and Ethan Becker, Christopher and Jonathan Lenz and Aubry LeJune, one great granddaughter, Elena Jane Lenz.
