Mary Katherlyn Delcambre Lyssy. Born July 18, 1930, passed away at her home in Groves, TX, December 5, 2012 with her loving husband Howard ever near her side. Finally, she is resting in peace with her Saviour after a long battle against Alzheimers and Dimentia. Mary was the only adopted child of Fernand and Clara Delcambre. In later years of her life, she was able to enjoy a loving relationship with her birth mother, Freida Iselt. She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 62 years, Howard Lyssy. Mary is also survived by her only son, her baby, Michael Evan Lyssy and his wife, Denise Ferrell Lyssy. She had 6 grand children and 10 great grand children. Mary served several years as a Pink Lady at Saint Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. She was also a member of the Florabunda Garden club and the Port Arthur Boat Club and Saint Catherine's Altar Society in the 60's and 70's. She enjoyed traveling the U.S. with Howard in their RV. She was always the one that made sure all the squirrels and birds were properly fed. Visitation will be on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a vigil service to be held at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 8, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Rev. Duc Q. Duong serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mary can be made to Autism Speaks,http://:event.autismspeaks.org/tributes/michael_lyssy or A-Med Hospice, 9801 EF Lawery Espressway,Suite D, Texas City, Texas 77591. She and Howard are indebted and thankful for the wonderful loving care from A-Med's hospice personnel and affiliates, especially Alex, Kindra, Virginia and Geneva.
