Robert Bob Blanton, Jr. 89 of The Woodlands, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Memorial Herman Hospital in The Woodlands. Bob was born in Port Arthur on June 23, 1923 to Robert B. and Esther Casey Blanton, Sr. He resided is Port Arthur for over 60 years and was retired from Bob Blanton and Son Real Estate Agency. Bob graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School class of 1941 and graduated University of Texas in 1944. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. Bob was active in many organizations while in Port Arthur, The United Methodist Temple, Wesley Class, served on the board of the Boy Scouts of America, Goodwill Industries, Rotary, Life time Member University of Texas Execs and Sons of the Republic of Texas He enjoyed Photography, gardening and especially fishing. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Susan Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Katherine M. Gaston Blanton of The Woodlands, Step-sons, Kenneth Gaston of Santa Barbara, CA., G. Ellis Gaston III of Austin, TX. and step-daughter Kathy and husband Jim Hartcog of The Woodlands, sister, Lou Blanton Strowbridg and husband Frederick of Houston and nephew, Fred and wife Rhega Strowbridge, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. with Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, Internment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
