Eva E. Zamora, 88 of Port Arthur passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at The Medical Center of southeast Texas. She was born on September 18, 1924 to Jesus and Josefa Suarez Escobedo in San Jose de Laura, Mexico. Eva was a 31 year resident of Port Arthur and was a homemaker. She was very active in her church (Our Lady of Guadalupe) until she was no longer able to attend. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters, one son and three grandchildren and her husband, Pedro Zamora, Sr. She is survived by her sons, Simon Zamora, Gilberto Zamora, Jose Juan Zamora Jesus Amando Zamora, Sr. all of Port Arthur, Fransisco Javier Zamora of Groves, Pedro Zamora, Jr. and Efrain Zamora both of Port Arthur, daughters, Rosario Z. Escareno of Port Arthur and Susana Zamora of Groves. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren as well as two sisters, Florinda Escobedo of Mexico and Eduvina Tambunga of Ozona, Texas along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with internment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to express our appreciation to the following for the excellent care that Eva received.
