Hazel Marie Nunez

Hazel L. Nunez age 90 passed away on January 6, 2013 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on March 17, 1922 in Loreauville, LA., to Nemes and Joseph Louvier. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Nunez Sr. and son, Jerry Lee Nunez; two brothers and four sisters. Survivors are two sons, James A. Nunez and wife, Patsy and Frank Nunez Jr. and wife, Pam all of Groves, Texas; four grandchildren, Timothy Nunez, Janna Nunez-Gussman, Curtis Nunez and Heather Nunez; and six great grandchildren, Wesley, Alexis and Tristan Barton, Curstann and Lucas Nunez, and Enrique Gussman. A native of Loreauville, La., Hazel was a longtime resident of Groves. Hazel was a homemaker and self-employed hairdresser for 10 years. Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or to the charity of choice.
