Carlo Roccaforte, Sr., 85, of Groves, Texas passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was born on June 19, 1927 to Lena Zumo Roccaforte and Frank Roccaforte, Sr. in Port Arthur, Texas. Carlo was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. He served in the Merchant Marines and retired from Texaco as a welder after 38 years of service. Carlo was a lifetime member of the Port Arthur Evening Sertoma Club and the Immaculate Conception Council #3491- Groves Knights of Columbus. He was active in several organization over the years, CYO, OCAW Local 4-23, Fetters Center where he served on the board. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM by the Groves Knights of Columbus at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth Greig serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie, Dale and Brian Mirabella, Mike and Wayne Roccaforte, Aaron Roccaforte, Beaver Dubois and Bill Jones. He was preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Tony and his sister Rose. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Landry Roccaforte of Groves, his children, Mark Roccaforte and wife Vickey of Port Arthur, Kirk Roccaforte and his wife Shirley of Bridge City, Chuck Roccaforte of Groves, Don Roccaforte and wife Val of Texas City, Julie Roccaforte and husband Johnnie of Groves, Danny Roccaforte and his wife Denise of Groves, his four grandchildren, Cristal Dubois and husband Beaver, Aaron Roccaforte and his wife Chrisleigh, Clint Miller and Shalyn Roccaforte, three great grandchildren, Camden and Caleb Dubois, Trent Roccaforte. We want to express our gratitude to Hospice personnel and caregivers, Diana, Felecia, Sasha and Geneva.
