Dolores Tapia Ayala Dolores Ayala, 91 of Port Arthur, passed away on Wenesday, January 16, 2013 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Dolores was born in Cleburne, TX on March 18, 1921 to Eulogio and Anna Lopez Tapia. She was a life long resident of this area. On May 9, 1937 she married Herman Ayala and they had 9 children. Dolores was retired from St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur as a nurse's aid after 17 years. Taking care of others was something "Mama" was very passionate about. She loved her children with all her heart and with great pride. Her Catholic faith was an unending devotion. She was faithful in prayer and would say novenas for anyone who had a need. Mama would stand steadfast in her love of God, Church and family. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons Arthur Ayala, Tony Ayala and Kenneth Ayala. She is survived by her sons, Guadalupe Ayala and his wife Maggie of Bellville, TX, Richard Ayala of Port Arthur, Ronnie Ayala of Port Arthur; daughters, Bertha Adaway and husband John of Port Arthur, Irene Berg and husband David of Port Arthur, Bonnie Dattalo of Port Arthur; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and 5 great-great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen McCrate officiating, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
