Oswald Lowell Peacock - Born March 13, 1924,in Port Arthur, Tx to Curtis Oswald and Willie Virgie Peacock. He passed from this life February 24, 2013 in Plano, TX. A Long time resident of Port Arthur, Lowell attended Thomas Jefferson High School. Upon graduation in 1942, he enlisted in the US Navy. Serving on the Pacific front of WWII, he was a signalman aboard a destroyer ship. He was employed at the Neches Butane Refinery in the Laboratory for 39 year before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Port Arthur Masonic Lodge 1264 and is a Past Master as well as had served many years as a District 26B Instructor of the Grand Lodge of Texas. Lowell was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church and had been a church deacon and song leader in his earlier years. He was an avid sportsman playing football, basketball, and track & field in school. He loved to play golf, hunt and fish, and his hobbies were woodcraft, rock collecting and jewelry making. He began dating the love of his life, Grace Gartman Peacock at age 15 and the married on August 4, 1945. Grace took the train to Pasadena, California and they were married while Lowell was on a 10 day shore leave. They had 3 children, a daughter Donna Doris Peacock, and two sons David Lowell and Dennis Paul Peacock. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Euna Grace Peacock, children Donna McCallum and husband Jim of Plano,TX, David Peacock and wife Linda of Plano, TX, and Dennis Peacock and wife Gari of Conway, Ark. Grandchildren Mark & Mary McCallum, Stephen Peacock, John & Katie Peacock, Donald & Megan Peacock, and Andrew Peacock. Two Great-Granddaughters, Katherine McCallum and Brooke Peacock. One sister Melba Doris Farris of Port Arthur, TX and a host of other relatives and friends. Lowell is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Jennifer McCallum.
