Robert Carlo Pastorella, Sr., 69, of Groves, Texas passed away at Mid Jefferson Extended Care Hospital in Nederland on February 25, 2013. He was born in Long Beach, California to Irene Stalker Pastorella and Carlo Pastorella on June 5, 1943. He graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1961 and joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years. Robert was a resident of the Port Arthur area for most of his life. He retired from Equistar as a supervisor after 33 years of service. He loved to play golf and worked at the Babe Zaharias Golf Course in Port Arthur for over 12 years, where he could play more. Robert had an artistic talent that came natural to him, he loved to draw with a No. 2 pencil. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at the Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2013 At St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. Rev. Msgr. Kenneth R. Greig will be serving as main celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with full military honors. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Pastorella of Groves, Texas, his daughter, Gina McMahon and husband Christopher of Port Neches, Texas, his son, Robert Carlo Pastorella, Jr. of Nederland, Texas along with his three grandchildren, Maggie McMahon, Hayden Guerra and Faith McMahon. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Davis of Port Neches, Texas, Melinda Pastorella of Port Arthur, Texas and Christine Serres and husband Michael of Buna, Texas, his brothers, Howard Pastorella and wife Brenda of New Orleans, Louisiana, Leslie Pastorella and wife Michelle, Bruce Pastorella and wife Laura all of Nederland, Texas. Robert also had 18 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews.
