Joseph Harold Louvier, 84, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013. He was born on August 2, 1929 to Angelia Gonsoulin Louvier and Alfred Louvier in Port Arthur, Texas. He was lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. Joseph served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sargeant during the Korean Conflict. He retired as an operator with Chevron after 38 years. He was a member of OCAW Local 4-23 and Camp Fire. He spent many happy hours at the beach hunting for arrowheads. Most of all, he loved his family, every time a grand or great grandchild were on the field or on the stage, you could count on him being there. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 24, 2013 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth Greig, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Vernes Louvier and his wife, Jo Ann Goulas Louvier. Joseph is survived by his daughters, Cathy Durso and husband Tony of Groves, Texas, Donna Tompkins and husband Paul of Nederland, Texas, six grandchildren, Blake Durso of Groves, Texas, Shane Durso and wife Cassie of Groves, Texas, Meagan Carlin and husband Brock of Groves, Texas, Rebekah Martinez of Austin, Texas, Brittney LeBlanc and husband Brandin of Grafenwohr, Germany, David Tompkins of Nederland, Texas, great grandchildren, Shelby Balsano, Harmony and Declan Durso, Jagger, Judson, Jack and Jett Carlin, Carson and Orrin LeBlanc and future granddaughter Elida Martinez.
