Robert Hargett, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was born on October 8, 1930 to Talmadge Hargett and Hattie Clark Hargett in Port Arthur, Texas. Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force. Robert retired from Texaco after 30+ years of service. Robert was an avid bingo player. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lillian Lloyd. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Gans Hargett of Port Arthur, Texas; daughter, Darla Kay Bertrand of Port Arthur, Texas; step-daughters, Sheryl Biggs, Barbara Biggs, Jessie Raber, Sunny Graham, Mary Theriot and Molly Downing; step-sons, George Biggs and Michael Gans; sister, Margaret Becker of Bridge City, Texas; brothers, John Hargett of California and Larry Hargett of Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00 AM. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Morton officiating and interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
