On October 30, 2013, a very remarkable woman, Eleanor Carnright of Port Neches departed this earth for a new journey in heaven. Born September 9, 1922 to Andrew and Mary Gorzkowski in Avoca, Pennsylvania, Eleanor resided here until completing college earning a registry in Medical Lab Technology. She moved to Newburgh, N.Y. where she met her husband, Richard. In 1953 the two married and settled in Groves, TX. Eleanor was co-owner of Quality Freezers Inc., and Carpel's Restaurant until retirement. Survivors include son, Richard (Ginger) of Austin, TX., daughters, Melanie Carnright of Groves, TX., and Carol Bagwell of Port Neches, TX., also, grandchildren, Ellen, Justin, Sarah, Jacob, Aaron, Richard III, Destiny, Jason, Logan, Tyler and Cade, sister Claire Siedlarczyk of Richmond, VA. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, brother, Andrew, sister, Helyn and infant son. Visitation will be Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 West Parkway, Groves, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4600 Procter St., Port Arthur, Texas. Internment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
