Alton A. "Blackie" Dugas, 94, of Port Neches, Texas passed away at his home on Monday, November 11, 2013. He was born on October 12, 1919 to Alice and Louis Dugas in New Iberia, Louisiana. Blackie served in the U. S. Army as a Corporal during WWII. He has been a resident of the area since 1941. Blackie retired from C. A. Turner Construction Company in 1984 as a supervisor after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council in Port Neches. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil service to be held at 5:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Bennie Patillo serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with full military honors. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Dugas and his son Guy Dugas. Blackie is survived by his son Dwight Dugas and his fiancée Cindy Stark of LaBelle, his three grandchildren, Cameron Paul Dugas, Patrick David Dugas, Madeleline Lea Cloud and husband Robert, two great grandchildren, Kyler and Brantlee Cloud.
