Dr. J. Willie Andrepont, 93, of Groves, Texas, passed away at the Rose House, in Port Arthur, on Sunday, December 22, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on October 7, 1920. As a young man, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Opelousas High School in 1938. Willie enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1942 to proudly serve during WWII as a fighter pilot. In 1949, Willie married the love of his life, Totty. Willie was commissioned to fly a Corsair fighter to serve in the Korean Conflict in 1952. Flying the Corsair was one of his proudest accomplishments. He ended his military career as a colonel in the USMC. Totty and Willie were blessed with their first three children during the war years. After the war, he enrolled in Lamar University, graduating in 1957, while adding two more children to their family. Willie moved his family to Houston to attend the University of Texas Dental School. During dental school, he worked three jobs, added three more children to his family and graduated in 1961. Willie began his dental practice in Port Arthur, and then later moved his practice to Groves, where he retired after 45 years of dentistry. He was a devout Christian and faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jenny, his sisters, Earline Haynes and Virginia Auffurth, his brother, Carl Andrepont and two of his sons, Ricky Andrepont and John W. "Buddy" Andrepont, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Estelle "Totty" Andrepont of Groves, his daughters, Kay Hebert and husband Kirk of Brentwood, Tennessee, Joanie Romero of Port Arthur, Carol Andrepont of Katy, Phyllis Guidry and husband Jerry of Port Neches and Colleen Andrepont of Groves, his son, Joe Andrepont and wife Angela of Dallas, grandchildren, Lance Hebert (Deann), Andrea Branoff (Andrew), Dr. Ross Romero, Matt Romero, Jeff Romero, Clint Falgout (Aimee), Laura Montondon (Mickey), Brent Guidry, Michael Andrepont (Suzanne), Christopher Andrepont (Nikki) and Brad Andrepont along with 7 great grandchildren, Adeline and Amelia Hebert, Anthony and Michael Branoff, Benjamin Falgout, Drake and Ford Andrepont. Willie's pallbearers will be his nine grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Kirk Hebert and Jerry Guidry. Willie was an amazing man, a good husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard working, kind and faith-filled man who never met a stranger. He will be missed by all. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Friday, December 27, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth R. Greig serving as celebrant. Burial with Military Funeral Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
