Rosetta Durso Jones, 88, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur. She was born on October 3, 1925 to Josephine Arisco Durso and Sam Durso in Port Arthur, Texas. Rosetta was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, graduated from St. Mary High School and Port Arthur College. She loved to tend to her roses and gardening, devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them laughing and having a good time. She worked at Gulf Oil for ten years before she began to raise her family with her husband, Claude. Rosetta was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Durso, M.D., her husband of 47 years, Claude Edward Jones, Sr. Rosetta is survived by her sons, Claude Edward Jones, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Michael Joseph Jones of San Antonio, Texas, her daughters, Josephine "Jo Beth" Elizabeth Grubbs of Nederland, Texas, Katherine Maria Jones of Port Neches, Texas, her five grandchildren, Dustin Grubbs, Samantha Grubbs, Cameron Grubbs, Jeffrey Jones and Jacob Jones, one great granddaughter, Patience Grubbs. She is also survived by her brother, Sam Durso and his wife Sondra of Groves, Texas, her aunt, Margaret Arisco of Port Neches, Texas, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
