Ignacio Aguilar, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Gulf Health Care Center in Port Arthur. He was born on September 13, 1932 to Melqeulidz Silva Aguilar and Miguel Aguilar in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Ignacio graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He served in the U. S. Army as a paratrooper. Ignacio retired from Texaco as an operator after 18 years of service. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, May 5, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T. R. Blanco serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Frank, Santos and Raymond Aguilar, his sister, Catherine Cortez and his loving wife, Lucila Aguilar. He is survived by his sons, Miguel "Mike" Aguilar and wife, Heather of Beaumont, Texas, John Paul Aguilar and wife, Charlene of Port Arthur, Texas, Max Morell and wife, Jody of Village Mills, Texas, his daughters, Adela Ann Mott and husband, Christopher of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Luz Celenia Coon and husband, Bill of Port Arthur, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, He is also survived by his sisters, Juanita Cuellar and husband, Juan of Port Arthur, Texas, Rose Morrell and husband, Jerry of Port Arthur, Texas, Delfina Aguilar of Port Arthur, Texas, his brothers, Pat Aguilar and wife, Petra of Nederland, Texas and Mike Aguilar of Port Arthur, Texas and his sister-in-law, Nina Aguilar along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
