Wanda Fletcher Gordon, 81, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. She was born on March 24, 1933 to Winola Christine Fletcher and Patrick Fields Fletcher in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a longtime resident of the area. Wanda retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a clerk after 34 years of service, where she started as the first female carrier at the Port Arthur office. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl "Danny" Gordon, her daughter, Jeanelle Gordon McGraw, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Donny and Myrtis Fletcher and Jimmy and Louise Fletcher. She is survived by her daughter, Danna Lynne Gordon of Nederland, Texas, her three sons, William "Bill" Gordon and wife, Shawn of Bridge City, Texas, Durwin Gordon and Stewart Gordon both of Nederland, Texas, nine grandchildren, Dawn Gordon, Heather Ripley, Micki Hernandez and husband, Jose, Misty Wenger and husband, Warren, Brett Gordon, Amber Neal and husband, Jeremy, Ryan Redkey, Daniel McGraw and Tayren Whitesel along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, May 5, 2014 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
