Cruz Manuel Ramos

August 11, 1937 - May 4, 2014

Cruz Manuel Ramos went to be with Our Lord in heaven, Sunday, May 4th 2014. He was a resident of Port Arthur, TX. for 60 years. Manuel retired from Jerry's Automotive and was well known as a master mechanic. He was involved at Trinity Baptist Church and taught Sunday school class, his hobbies included listening to the Astro's baseball and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Adella Revera and Marciar Ramos, four sisters, Lydia Ramos, Arcele Ramos, Juila Ramos and Lucita Estrada all of Puerto Rico, Lucila Aguilar, four brothers and a granddaughter, Shrivon Dorman of Orange. He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Lucy, his son, Oscar Proenza, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Groves, daughters, Reina Ramos of Orange, Lana Hughes and husband, Jimmy of Groves, Linda Michon and husband, Roy of Friendswood, TX., Toni East of Groves, Cookie Carlquist and husband, Donnie, 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Haydee Ramos and husband, Diego Cruz of Puerto Rico and Aida Ramos of Port Arthur along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 10 AM till 12 Noon. Funeral service will be at 12 Noon in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher LeBlanc, Corey Proenza, Justin Proenza, Jason Balsano, Kevin Michon, Jeremy Dorman and Steve Piazza, Jr.
