Mary J. Broussard was born June 16, 1921 in Burleson County, Texas to Annie and John Bates. She moved to Port Arthur, Texas at a very early age and remained there until 2012 when she moved to Lumberton, Texas. Mary was a Thomas Jefferson High School graduate. During World War II she married Robert "Bob" Broussard. Mary followed Bob to Duluth, Minnesota and California where he was stationed. They had three children. Mary was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, Tommy Broussard, sister, Zimmie Simmons and brother, Lloyd Bates. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Janice Cammack and her husband, John of Lumberton, Texas; son, Robert "Bobby" Broussard, Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren, James "Chris" Beane and his wife, April of Lumberton, Texas; Alan "Scott" Beane and fiancé, Candie of Las Vegas, Nevada; Robert "Trey" Broussard, III and his wife Erin of Port Neches, Texas; Jennifer "Kerry" Jacobs and her partner, Wesley of Port Neches, Texas; great grandchildren Whitney and Kelby Beane of Lumberton, Texas and Kara, Quade and Dominic Broussard of Port Neches, Texas; sister-in-law, Rachel Broussard of Spurger, Texas and Leona Broussard of Granada Hills, California; nephew, Brian Broussard and wife, Jeannie of Hico, Texas; nieces, Charlene Woodward of Sherman Oaks, California and Candy Broussard of Redondo Beach, California. The family extends sincere appreciation to Brittany of Odyssey/Gentiva Hospice and Sparkle, Kim, Danny and Joan of Oak Grove Nursing Home for their loving care and concern. A celebration of Mary's life was celebrated at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas, Wednesday, June 25.
