Nellie Mae Williams, 96, of Sabine Pass, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. She was born in Ged, Louisiana(Calcasieu Parish) on March 10, 1918 to Mae Huffman Williams and Lynn E. Williams. Nellie was a lifelong resident of Sabine Pass. She worked at Granger's Seafood for many years, before opening her own businesses, including Nell's Café in Sabine Pass which she ran for over 20 years. She was a member of the Pentacostal faith. Visitation will be on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her siblings, Walter, Ernest, Lynn and Ed Williams; her husband and the father of her children, Eddie Deslatte, Sr.; her children, Eddie Deslatte, Jr., Norma Bossley and Brenda Lantz. She is survived by her son, Dalton Deslatte and his wife, Carole of Port Arthur, Texas, her sister, Gladys Thompson (Tommy) of Thorndale, Texas. Nellie leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren as well as 14 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
