Aurora delaRosa, 91, of Port Arthur passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at her home. She was born in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico on June 6, 1923 to Margarita Alvarez Sanchez and Ramon Sanchez. She has been a resident of Port Arthur for 61 years. Aurora was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Club Latino. Visitation will be on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 4 PM to 8 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T. R. Blanco, serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Agustin delaRosa, Sr., her daughter, Sylvia Ann delaRosa, her sons, David and Romeo delaRosa. She is survived by her daughters, Maria Zapata of Beaumont, Texas, Lidia Rojas of Port Arthur, Texas, Estela Garza of Groves, Texas, Oralia Flores of Port Neches, Texas, Diana Elizondo of Ingleside, Texas and Maggie Valma of Houston, Texas, her sons, Agustin delaRosa, Jr. of Groves, Texas, Jose Ramon delaRosa and Richard delaRosa both of Nederland, Texas, Estanislao delaRosa of Groves, Texas and John Manuel delaRosa of Port Arthur, Texas along with 39 grandchldren, 56 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
