Ire Nell Van Devender, 86, of Groves, passed away on September 15,2014, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. She was born to Gertrude Jacob and Max Brau on December 30, 1927, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She is preceded in death by her husband, James T. Van Devender; daughter, Katherine Mouton Freeman; brothers, Clarence Brau, Harroll Brau, Harvey Brau; and sister, Shirley Holland. Survivors include her daughter, Teri Nell Schildknecht and husband, Charles, of Port Neches; son-in-law, Clarence Freeman of Houston; five grandchildren; Carly Latiolais and husband, Kody, of Groves, Cassie Schildknecht of Spring, Mary Bates and husband, Rick, of Houston, Jon Freeman and wife, Jennifer, of Tomball, Mark Freeman and wife, Jennifer, of Crosby; sister, Maxine Lovelace, Groves; brothers Wilbur Lee (Baby) Brau, Groves, Mike Brau and wife Kathy, Groves; eight greatgrandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as great friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will follow with Pastors Beth and Clay Faulk officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves. The family would like to thank all the angels at Harbor Hospice House for their compassionate care through this difficult journey. Ire Nell was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church/Providence Church and loved her church and church family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Church, P.
