Rodney Joseph Benoit, 44, of Bridge City passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas to Silvia Bourque Benoit and Wilbur Joseph Benoit on September 15, 1970. Rodney graduated from Bridge City High School in 1989 and attended Blinn Junior College for a short time. He received his associates degree in instrumentation from Lamar Institute of Technology in 2004. Rodney worked for Austin Industries and became a self employed Instrument Contractor working for several companies in Florida and Oklahoma. He was a longtime resident of Bridge City. Rodney was a avid Texas Longhorn Fan. He served in the U. S. Army in Germany. He is survived by his parents, Wilbur and Silvia Benoit in Bridge City, his beloved child (four legged) Reggie, his aunt and uncle, Debra and Jack Huffman of Orange, uncle and aunt, Donald and Ginger Bourque and family of Orange, Danny and Bonnie Benoit of Houston, uncles, K. K. Bourque and his son, Wacey of Nederland, Mike Bourque of Bridge City, his cousins, Trey and wife, Rachel Huffman of Orange, second cousins, Ryder Huffman and Carter Foreman of Orange. He is also survived by his fiancée, Kerri Quebedeaux and her three sons, Hunter, Ty and Dakota. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel.
