A.J. Degeyter, 82, of Beaumont, Passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Born on January 6, 1932 in Port Arthur, TX, to Germaine Stoute Degeyter and Avite Degeyter, Sr. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army in Korea. He retired from Southern Union Gas as a service man. A.J. was a member of the Golden Triangle Cajun Association in 1994. A.J. is preceded in death by his parents and five sisters. Those left to cherish him is his wife, Ella Rose Degeyter of Beaumont, TX; his sons, A.J. and wife Pamela Degeyter of Nederland, TX, Clint and wife Renee Degeyter of Bridge City, TX, Dale Degeyter of Port Neches, TX, David and wife Dana Degeyter of Groves, TX; daughter, Kim McCroskey and husband Mike of Onalaska, TX; sister, Eunice Flowers of Palastine, TX; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A.J. was a member of VFW Post 797 and American Legion Post 493. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 6 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
