Mervin Francis Primeaux, 86, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur. He was born on December 9, 1928 to Maude Boutte Primeaux and Francis M. Primeaux in Port Arthur, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in the states during the Korean Conflict. Mervin lived in Port Arthur for most of his life and has been living in Nederland since 1979. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a clerk at the downtown Port Arthur station after 31 years of service. Mervin was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Irene" Primeaux of Nederland, his son, Francis Primeaux of Austin, Texas, two grandchildren, Thomas Primeaux and wife, Stacee of League City, Texas, Anne Primeaux and husband, Dan of Rockport, Texas, two great grandchildren, Cayson and Jacob Primeaux. He is also survived by his brother, Ted Primeaux and wife, Margaret of Brookeland, Texas, and his half brother, Micka Primeaux and wife, Nancy of Kerrville, Texas, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Msgr. Dan Malain, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
