Robert Lee DeRouen, 86, of Port Arthur passed away on February 22, 2015 at Tyrrell Adult Care in Beaumont. He was born on October 9, 1928 to Edna Smith DeRouen and Oder Lee DeRouen in Port Arthur, Texas. Robert was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He worked as a butcher for his dad at Stadium Meat Market. He and his wife, Naomi opened up DeRouen's Color Supply on Gulfway and ran it for 43 years before he retired at age 74. Robert was an avid duck hunter, outdoorsman and a lifetime member of Duck's Unlimited. He was a duck and geese caller for O. D. LaBove Hunting Lodge as well as on his own land in Sabine Pass known as Triple Oaks Farm. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James (Jimmy) Robert DeRouen; his daughters, Sharon DeRouen (Infant) and Vicki McGough; and his wife, Naomi DeRouen. Robert is survived by his daughters, Judy Landry Hooker of Port Arthur, Donna DeRouen, Glenda Wade and husband, Wayne of Farmerville, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Lana Swenson and husband, David of Beauxart Gardens and several nieces and nephews.
