Earl Eugene "Gene" Davis, 89, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Brookedale Dowlen Oaks in Beaumont. He was born on June 26, 1926 to Sadie Palmer Davis and James Earl Davis in Port Arthur, Texas. Gene was a longtime resident of the Golden Triangle. He owned and operated Port Arthur Honda on Gulfway Drive. Gene served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of First Christian Church. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and his wife, Frankie Ruth Davis. He is survived by his daughters, Paula Sue "Susie" James of Lumberton, Texas, Jean Ann Sharp and her husband, Bill of Azle, Texas, Frankie Je' Nean Davis and her husband, Kris Moody of Orange, Texas, step-son, Ronald Eugene James and his wife, Melody of Groves, Texas, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, September 7, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
