Dorothy Nadeen Lloyd Smith, 91, passed away on December 30, 2015.
Dorothy was born in Port Arthur on June 22, 1924. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur Business College. Dorothy was a member of the National Secretary Club and the Groves Garden Club. She worked as a legal secretary for many years. She enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, playing the piano, sewing, quilting and loved watching her Dallas Cowboys. Dorothy lived in Port Arthur until 1963 when she moved to Groves, Texas. She spent the last 2 ½ years at Gulf Health Care in Port Arthur.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father Nathaniel D. (Doc) Lloyd, mother Mary Augusta Lloyd, sister, Mary Agnes Frasier and brothers William (Bill) Lloyd and Arthur Douglas Lloyd.
Dorothy was survived by her husband of 63 years Ray Smith, son Lloyd Ray Smith and daughter in-law Paula Curtice Smith and numerous nieces and nephews all whom she truly loved.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves from 5:00PM-8:00PM on Friday, January 1, 2016 and a graveside service at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 2, 2016 Ebenezer Cemetery on County Road 3625 off Highway 256 in Tyler County Texas.
