Anna Verna Hecker, 92, of Groves. Texas has passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 4, 1924 to Edna Mergist Broussard and Clude Broussard in Erath, Louisiana. Anna was a resident of the area for over 70 years. She was a homemaker and devoted caregiver to her family. Anna was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ashton Hecker.
Anna is survived by her three sons, Ashton Hecker, Jr. and wife, Diane of Houston, Raymond Hecker and wife, Ann of Groves, Kenneth Hecker and wife, Loretta of Bridge City, her daughter, Phyllis Ganann and husband, Steve Gant of Richmond, eight grandchildren, Ray Hecker, Jr., Julie Graham, Ashton Hecker III, Ashley Aniol, April Fox, Ken Hecker, Collin Kolupski and Evan Kolupski, six great grandchildren, Kael Hecker, Taylor Hecker, Caitlynn Aniol, Carlie Aniol, Noah Graham and Aaron Graham and four great- great grandchildren, Kannan Hecker, Mia Hecker, Allyson Hecker and Kyle Hecker.
She is also survived by her sister, Rachel Fontenot of Groves, Lita Wood of Austin, Texas along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from Noon till 1:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A service to honor Anna’s Life will be at 1:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Texas Scottish Rites Hospital for Children in Dallas, 2222 Welborne Street, Dallas, Texas 75219 in memory of Anna.
