Bobby Sue Arendale Tweedel, 84, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
She was born on September 20, 1931 to Clara Barton Smith Arendale and Taylor Barnym Arendale in Port Arthur, Texas. Bobby was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church for over 60 years and served as a Eucharist Minister. Bobby loved going to garage sales, decorating, shopping and Starbucks. Her home was always open to visitors and friends. Her sense of humor, easy going nature and gumbo will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Earl Tweedel, her brother, Taylor Delbert Arendale and her sister, Eula Jeanette Condron.
Bobby Sue is survived by her son, Thomas Arthur Tweedel of Austin, and her three daughters, Cheryl Cole and husband, Robert of Austin, Karen Busfield and husband, Greg, Bonnie Becker and husband, Greg all of Katy, her nine grandchildren, Thomas Edward Tweedel, Robert Cole, Jr., Carrie Cole Bevers, Campbell Busfield, Carson Busfield, Crosby Busfield, Preston Becker, Bobbie Rose Becker, Ethan Becker and 7 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Anita Simon of Nederland and brother, Delbert “Tee” Pearson Arendale of Cypress, and several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
