PeeWee was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Glenda Kiger Simms and his brother-in-law, Billy Simms. He is survived by his two nieces, Kathy Walters and her husband Wade of Port Acres and Lily Fanning and her husband Bob of Houston; his great-nieces, Ashley Arceneaux and her husband JC of Port Acres, Brittany Peltier and her husband Joe of Bridge City and Brooke Fanning of Houston; his greatnephew, Robert Fanning of Houston and his great-great niece Elizabeth Peltier. He is also survived by his aunt, Lily "Tootsie" Clymer of Turnersville, Texas, his "favorite cousin" Kay Kiger of Houston, his special friend and caregiver Franny Griffin and family of Port Acres, many more beloved family members and his friends at the Jefferson County Adult Day Center in Port Arthur.

PeeWee was the true definition of a special needs child as there was never anyone as special as he was. He loved everyone and enjoyed being with his family and friends the most. He had a sharp wit and was very observant as well. He had the sweetest disposition and truly pure spirit. His mother raised him with love and discipline and expected him to be polite and kind, and he was always a well-behaved gentleman, quick to give a compliment and tell you he loved you. He enjoyed attending "school" at the Jefferson County Adult Day Center and made many friends there. He loved chocolate pie and "The Poky Little Puppy" and was never without at least two transistor radios. PeeWee taught all of his family the true meaning of love and acceptance and what was really important in life. We were all blessed to have him in our lives.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Franny Griffin and the other caregivers who have given PeeWee such loving care over the past nine years and to Gentiva Hospice for their tender care the last few days. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church , 2628 61 Street, Port Arthur , TX 77640 or The Jefferson Adult Day Center, 3100 Gulfway Drive , Port Arthur , TX 77642 .
