Richard Phu Nguyen, 57, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
He was born on February 26, 1959 to Than Thi Nguyen and Truong Nguyen in Vietnam.
Richard has been a resident of Port Arthur then Nederland. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Chicago. Richard owned and operated the Golden Croissant in Nederland since the mid 90’s and Tracy’s Seafood and Wings in Bridge City. Richard was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, Queen of Vietnam and St. Catherine’s in Port Arthur.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Thinh Nguyen.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ginny Yen Nguyen of Nederland, his son, Andy Phi Nguyen of Beaumont, his two daughters, Theresa Phuong Nguyen of Austin, Anita Nhi Nguyen of Nederland.
He is also survived by his three sisters, Chinh Tran of Beaumont, Hoa Hoang of Nederland and Qui Dang of Port Arthur, his four brothers, Hoang Nguyen, Steve Quynh Nguyen and Long Nguyen all of Port Arthur and Thuan Nguyen of Nederland, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves
From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday. A Mass will be at 5 PM Friday at the Queen of Vietnam Church followed by a visitation from 6 PM to 8 PM at Clayton Thompson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Queen of Vietnam Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
