Calvin Gary, 87, of Port Acres passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

He was born on September 18, 1929 to Lilly Mouton Gary and Dennis Gary in Port Arthur, Texas. Calvin was a lifelong resident of the area. He retired as an electrician with

Equistar (Arco-Polymers, Sinclair-Copper, Quantum Chemical) after 27 years of service.

Calvin was a member of St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons, Bert and Carl Gary, his loving wife, Beatrice Gary.

Calvin is survived by his daughter, Anita Lawless of Port Arthur, his son, Jeff Gary and his wife, Jeanie of Groves, his grandchildren, Chad Gary, Jared Gary, Shane Gary, Megan Gary, Scott Stewart, Brock Theuman, Casey Stewart and Kaitlen Gary.

His great grandchildren are Lawsen Gary, Leyton Gary, Loren Gary and Olivia Gary.

He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte Rodgers and her husband, Howard of Beaumont, his brother, Larry Wayne Gary and his wife, Lynn of Port Arthur, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Laddy.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
