Gloria Mae Ardoin

December 6, 1925 - August 21, 2017

Gloria Mae Ardoin, 91, of Orange went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 21, 20017 at Orange Villa in Orange, Texas.

Gloria was born on December 6, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Mary (LaPlace) and Julius Leslie Roberts, Sr. She had lived in the Orange area for 35 years and was a member of New Life Assembly of God in Orangfield. She also was very active in her church; where she loved to sing. Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Lee Ardoin; her brother, J. L. “Buddy” Roberts, Jr.; her sisters, Ina Wilma Block, Hazel Bernice Trahan, Audrey Chyme Tibbitts, Versie Mayola Talbott, Mamie Ola Cantrel, Mildred (Pete) Davidson; her grandson, Clary Cliffton Chesson and her son in law, Jim Spears.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Clary Mitchell Chesson and his wife, Ruth of Orange, TX, Dave Leslie Chesson, Sr. and his wife, Charolette of Orange, TX; her daughter, Sherry Spears of Cypress, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dave Chesson, Jr. and his wife, Karen, Krissy Reese and fiancé , Chad Havens, Craig Chesson and his wife, Lucy, Lori Chesson; 20 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 12 noon at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a gathering of family and friends from 10 am until service time. Rev. Clary Chesson, her son, and Rev Keith Pennington, her minister will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Orange Villa Nursing Home and Linda with Heart To Heart Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Gloria Ardoin.
