Sue Ellen Wolford Garner, 71, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on September 7, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
She was born on December 2, 1945 to her parents, Carroll E. Wolford and Myrtle Marie Walker Wolford in Port Arthur, Texas. Sue was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School in Port Arthur. She earned her LVN degree from Lamar. Sue joined the U. S. Army Medical Corp and served during the Vietnam War. She worked at St. Mary Hospital and for Dr. Carl Beaudry’s office and was currently working for Dr. Harvey Randolph’s office.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Nance “Cowboy John” Garner.
She is survived by her daughter, Tara Garner of New York, New York, her step-daughter, Jennifer Garner and husband, Roger Dean of Nederland, two step-sons, Joey Garner and wife, Lisa of Nederland, Billy Garner of Galveston, Texas.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Wolford of Crosby, Texas and Melissa Rojo of Austin, Texas, three brothers, Carroll Wolford and wife, Laquita of Rowlett, Texas, Kenny Wolford of Orange, Kurt Wolford and wife, Lynn of Mauriceville, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Sue’s life will be at 6:00 PM Saturday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson.
