Charles "Chummy" Emerson Mingle, 91, of Groves passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his residence.
Charles was born on September 15, 1926 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Allie (Krueger) and Louis Mingle Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and Groves area. Charles served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines and he retired from Neches Butane as a supervisor after 43 years of employment. He enjoyed the outdoors; going fishing, hunting and working in his garden. He also enjoyed working with his hands; building bird houses and walking canes. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Louis Mingle Jr., Raymond Witt Mingle.
Those left to cherish Charles memory are his wife, Bernice Spell Mingle of Groves; his sons, Craig Mingle of Port Neches, Brian Mingle and wife, Connie of LeVernia, TX; his daughters, Holley Trahan and husband, Ronnie of Bridge City, Kelly Mingle and husband, Jon of Gold River, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tina LeBlanc, Eric LeBlanc and wife, Twyla, Jesse Mingle, Charles Mingle, Ryan Mingle, Meagan Mingle; his great grandchildren, Nathan LeBlanc and Zoey Mingle.
In lieu of flowers, Charles "Chummy" Mingle wishes are for you to spend quality time with family and friends; taking them to lunch. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.
