Shirley Ann Ducote, 79, of Jasper, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Rayburn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 5, 1939 to her parents, Travis Emmons and Vera Sinclair Emmons in Center,Texas. Shirley lived most of her life in Port Arthur before moving to the Jasper area. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her family with her husband, Ronald. Shirley was affiliated with Triumph Church in Nederland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald J. Ducote and her son, Gary Ducote, Jr.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Debra Ducote of Alexandria, Virginia, her two sons, Gary Ducote, Sr. of LaBelle, Texas, Kevin Ducote and wife, Kim of Jasper, Texas. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Neely McNeil, Chelsea Ducote, Misty Cook, Lekeisha Jenkinson, Wendie Ducote and Dennis Sprouse along with six great grandchildren, Ashton Weatherley, Cade Weatherley, Marlee McNeil, John Brimm, Jr., Nicholas Duve and Nicole Duve. She is also survived by her brother, John Edward Emmons of Wasihington, Texas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 18, 2017 from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Shirley's life will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland.
