Jack Arnold Spears

Jack Arnold Spears, 71, of Baytown, Texas passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.
He was born on December 29, 1945 in Long Beach, California. Jack lived in Port Arthur before moving to Baytown over 18 years ago. He worked as a representative with American Tobacco Company and moved to Baytown to manage and work with his brother's Jim restaurant, Tookies of Seabrook from 1990 to 2008. Jack was a member at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown, where he served as an usher and a member of the Knights Of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Spears, Jr. and Dorothy Nell Haney Spears and his stepmother, Shelba Jean Davis Spears.
Jack is survived by his brother, Jim Spears of Clear Lake, Texas, his sister, Sissie Veal and her husband, Jimmy of Groves, his brother, Steven Spears and his wife, Jessica of Hurst, Texas along with his five nephews, Craig Veal and wife, Lynn, Jeremiah Spears, Josiah Spears, Elijah Spears and his niece, Hadassah Spears as well as his longtime companion, Mary Ellen Powers of Port Arthur.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors in Groves.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur or to a charity of your choice in memory of Jack.
