Estelle Katherine Irwin

November 14, 1921 - November 11, 2017

Estelle Katherine James Graff Irwin, 95, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Hill Country Care in Dripping Spring, Texas.

Estelle was born on November 14, 1921 in Harris County to Rowena Lorena Knight.  At a young age she was adopted and reared by her wonderful parents, Johannah (Gerken) and Abraham Richard James and lived most her life in the Port Arthur area.  She was a life-long Methodist who in later years was a member of United Methodist Temple. Estelle worked at Neilsen's Office Supply & Gifts for 25 years.  She was a generous and loving person who will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.

She preceded in death by her son, James Richard "Buddy" Mire; her step daughter, Carolyn Graff West and her brother, Eberle James.

Estelle is survived by her daughter, Gloria M. Walker of Austin, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 1 pm until service time. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
