Elsie M. Stanley DuBose, 88, of Groves, TX passed away February 9, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born in Zavalla, TX and later moved to Sabine Pass, TX. She was Salutatorian of her class at Sabine Pass and played on the basketball team. After marriage and years of raising a family, she helped establish DuBose Marine Electronics, Inc. with her husband Vernon. She ran the business office for many years until their retirement. She was a member of the Port Arthur La Sertoma Club and the Port Arthur Little League Auxiliary. Elsie loved art, music and the mountains of the western United States. She was a fine painter of landscapes and still life subjects in oil.

Elsie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Vernon DuBose; son, Larry DuBose and wife, Jan; son, Barry DuBose and wife, Vickie, and their son, John Lewis; and by her nieces and nephews she loved like her own children.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 12 noon at Clayton Thompson Funeral, with a gathering of family and friends from 10 AM until service time. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
