Raymond Ernest Ramirez

July 14, 1941 - March 20, 2018

Raymond Ramirez, 76, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Raymond was born on July 14, 1941 in El Campo, Texas to parents Maire (Zepeda) and Nevise Ramirez. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated an automotive shop and had worked at several car dealerships. Raymond had lived in Port Arthur for 17 years and prior in Beaumont. He was a member of St. Catherine Siena Catholic Church where he was a greeter, usher and he enjoyed playing golf

He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Rudy Ramirez, and sister, Janie Welch.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 17 years, Barbara Ramirez; daughters, Reagan Ramirez and Ruthie Ross; sons, Ryan Ramirez and Tyler Ramirez and fiancée, Allison; stepchildren, Mitchell Patin and wife, Sally; Melissa Dolan and husband, Mark. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, brothers, Joe Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Lupe Ramirez, Ray Ramirez, Bobby Ramirez; sister, Theresa Adams; numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 1 PM until 3:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with a rosary to be prayed at 3 PM at the funeral home. A 4 PM Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Cremation will follow the services under the arrangements of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
