Patsy (Pat) Jean Williams Varnado (age 89) passed away peacefully on Friday evening, March 23, 2018 at Medical Center, Port Arthur.  She was born to Stanley Lee and Gladys Walker Williams on December 6, 1928 at Mary Gates Hospital in Port Arthur, TX.  She married Frederick Varnado on June 2, 1946.  Together they lived in many towns in Texas and in several States over the years.  She worked with the Republican Party in Memphis and Greeneville, Tennessee and ran the Republican Headquarters for Greene County during the late 1970's. She was a President of the Greeneville Women's City and County Republican organization.  She owned a children's clothing store in Greeneville, TN until 1981.  She was civic minded and worked with many organizations throughout the years.  One of her favorite projects was coordinating a Toys for Tots campaign in Greene County, TN along with the Police, Fire and County Human Services departments which served over 3000 children in the region.  After moving back to the Port Arthur area in 1982, she continued her civic minded volunteerism through the Port Arthur Pilot Club, Symphony Club, served on the Boards at Community Home, and also at Friends of the Library.  She was a member of St. Georges Episcopal church and later Holy Trinity in Port Neches.  She was an avid bridge player.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jackie Williams, daughters; Debra Susan Farmacka and Ashlea Spain and her husband Fred.  She is survived by her sister, Geri Kantainis of Englewood, FL; daughter, Kimberly Anne Francom and husband Allen of Austin; grandsons Fred and Sean Mitchell of Austin; granddaughter, Sandra Gail Farmacka Leal and husband Marco of Round Rock, TX; granddaughter, Michelle Robinson and husband William of TN; grandsons, Michael and Lale Holloway of TN; niece, Christi Hennels and husband Dann of Naples, FL; nephews, Chris and Stan Kantainis of Naples, FL and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. with gathering of family and friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, TX.
