Anna Louise Riu

March 31, 1920 - April 10, 2018

Anna Louise Riu, 98, of Groves passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at April's House of Angels in Port Neches.

Anna was born on March 31, 1920 in Broussard, Louisiana to parents, Laura (Girouard) and Euloge Landry. She had lived in the Groves area since 1958 and was a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell for many years. Anna was a very active member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing card games, playing dominoes, traveling with husband, and working in her yard. Anna was a loving person who will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilfred J. Riu Jr.; her son, Dale Riu; her brother, Emery Landry; her sisters, Verna Guthrie, Rose Guidry, Goldie Racca, Shirley Ledet.

Anna is survived by her grandsons, Caleb Riu and his wife, Jessica of Kountze, Tim Riu and his wife, Mattie of Nederland; two great grandchildren, Emerald, Atticus; daughter in law, Bonnie Riu of Port Neches. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Theall, Patsy Gannard both of Lafayette, LA and numerous nieces and nephews all of Lafayette, LA.

A 2 PM funeral service will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, with at gathering of family and friends from 1 PM until service time. A rosary will be prayed during the visitation. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
