Carolyn Webb of Groves, Texas, passed on to eternal life at home on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home 5200 39th Street Groves, TX 77619, with a gathering of family and friends from 2 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born in a cottage on the Texas Company Row January 3, 1932 to parents, Monroe and Ruby Schildknecht. She was a long time resident of Groves and a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 60 years.

Carolyn was employed at the Texas Dept. of Human Resources and retired from Jefferson County Welfare in Beaumont.

Carolyn’s hobbies were bridge, reading, flower gardening and laughing with friends and family members. Carolyn and Roy traveled for many years on commercial tours. Her most memorable trip was an educational tour to China with best of friends, walking the Great Wall of China.

Most of all, she enjoyed always being available for the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Groves parades and the Annual Pecan Festival. She loved her church friends and keeping up with her PNG high school friends through reunions, phone calls and note cards. She enjoyed the many letters from her two nieces Diane and Debbie.

She is survived by sons, Stephen and Joel Webb; daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Nick Huckaby; brother, Charles and wife Teri Schildknecht, grandchildren Misty Higgins and Garrett Webb, Charles and Kristen Huckaby. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Taylor Tatum and husband Harrison, Jaycee Collins, Ava and Slade Huckaby and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roy Webb; her son, Lee Webb, her brother, Glynn Schidknecht; her sister and brother-in-law Brezzy and Joanne Breland.

The family are especially grateful to caregivers Maria Cobos and Elvie, to Compassion Care, Judy, Melouise, Paula, Alan, Elaine, Chaplain Pitre and to Synergy Home Care, Jo Ann, Rebbeca, Josie and Raven.
