Mark Mitchell Thompson passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018 surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 3, 1945 to Harvey Mitchell Thompson and Minnie Madeline Deleon Thompson. Mark was a 1963 graduate of Thomas-Jefferson High School; he furthered his education by becoming a Barber and working in Port Arthur. Mark hired on with Texaco where he was a pipefitter and later on for Huntsman until he retired

He enjoyed his retirement years by working in his yard, spending time with his grandkids, attending football games, baseball games, cheer competitions and all the school activities. He managed the concession stand for PNG Booster Club until 2015 and is a lifetime member. He also enjoyed meeting his fellow retirees at Golden Corral every first Tuesday of the month.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Minnie Thompson, his wife, Claudia Dawn Thompson and his son, Chad Mitchell Thompson.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Jo Jurisich and her husband, John of Garland, TX; his daughter, Shelley Hayes and her husband, Peter and their children, Bryanna Madeline, Robert Levi and Ryan Mark all of LaBelle, TX; his daughter in law, Michelle Thompson and her children, Taylor Mitchell, Tanner Michael, Hannah Dawn all of Port Neches. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A 10 am funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
